The Juan de la Cierva 2025 call is aimed at R2 researchers to further consolidate their research career within Spanish R&D institutions.
The Juan de la Cierva 2025 call is aimed at R2 researchers (postdoctoral researchers who have obtained their PhD) to further consolidate their research career within Spanish R&D institutions. The programme provides funding for the recruitment of postdoctoral researchers who have recently completed their PhD and seek to strengthen their integration into established research groups.
The call is intended for candidates who obtained their doctorate between 1 January 2024 and 31 December 2025 and who did not carry out their predoctoral training at the UPC. The grants have a duration of three years and may include a limited teaching component, depending on the needs of the host group. Funding contributes to the salary and associated social security costs of the researcher, and requires co-financing from the host group or, alternatively, can be aligned with teaching responsibilities according to institutional arrangements.
Applications must be submitted through the Ministry’s online platform within the established submission period, from 25 November to 10 December 2025 at 14:00 (CET). Once submitted, proposals will undergo validation at the UPC and must include an endorsement from the principal investigator of the research group hosting the candidate.
Further details on eligibility, funding conditions, documentation requirements, and the application process can be found here.
