ICREA Catalunya Talent Bridge

ICREA (Catalan Institution for Research and Advanced Studies)

ICREA is a program promoted by the Government of Catalonia aimed at attracting and retaining high-level research talent who wish to develop their academic and research careers in Catalonia.

ICREA offers permanent contracts to researchers from around the world who want to work in Catalonia. Over the years, these positions have become synonymous with academic excellence at a global level.

The ICREA Call

• Offers permanent contracts to attract or consolidate outstanding researchers within the Catalan research system.

• Selected candidates become ICREA Research Professors.

• Aimed at researchers with excellent track records in terms of scientific output and leadership.

• Open to all research fields.

• The Government of Catalonia finances the employment costs, which may be supplemented by Catalan universities and research centers.

• The amount and form of additional support vary depending on the institution.

• The call is open annually, with research fields rotating each year, and international selection criteria.

ICREA Catalunya Talent Bridge

This program follows the same line as ICREA but is specifically aimed at researchers currently working in the United States.

• The research areas and profiles are adapted to the current call.

  • For example: Experimental Sciences and Mathematics, and Engineering Sciences (for the 2025 call).

• Selected candidates may receive a welcome package in the form of discretionary funds, which will be transferred to the host institution where the applicant is affiliated (university, CERCA center, or ICTS).
