17 FI-SDUR research grants for 2024 have been awarded. These grants are aimed at supporting the recruitment of early-stage researchers who are developing their doctorate within the framework of a department of the Catalan university system. The first beneficiaries of the FI-SDUR 2024 grants began their positions on March 1, 2025.
The FI-SDUR grants are designed to promote the research capacity of the university system, enhancing and consolidating collaborative scientific strategies and policies between the selected departments and their universities. The ultimate goal is to foster research activities with international impact and to strengthen the generation of cutting-edge knowledge and its transfer to society.
These initiatives contribute significantly to reinforcing the role of Catalan universities as key players in global research, providing both researchers and institutions with the resources needed to push the boundaries of knowledge across various scientific fields.
These grants are managed by AGAUR (The Agency for Management of University and Research Grants), an institution dedicated to supporting research and higher education in Catalonia. Established in 2001, AGAUR has evolved over the years, expanding its programs and resources to adapt to new scientific and social challenges. Committed to fostering a more egalitarian and knowledge-driven society, the agency provides funding opportunities for students, researchers, universities, and research centers, while ensuring transparency, excellence, and continuous improvement in its services. AGAUR also aligns its activities with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), reinforcing its commitment to responsible and impactful research.
The FI-SDUR 2024 grants are co-funded by the Generalitat de Catalunya and the European Social Fund (Fons Social Europeu), strengthening research capacity and supporting the development of highly skilled researchers in Catalonia.
